X-Ring Ceremony FAQ

What time is the X-Ring Ceremony?

The X-Ring ceremony will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 3pm.

 

Where do I line up for the Ceremony?

A couple days before the ceremony, you will receive your ceremony number, location and time to line up.  The location will be either the Keating Centre Conference Rooms (2nd Floor) or the AUX Rink.  You will also be given instructions on what entrance to use to enter the building.

 

Where do I get my gown?

Our ceremonial team will be set up on the 4th floor of Bloomfield in Council Chambers to pass out gowns, tickets  and check vaccinations. All students MUST come during one of these pick up times. Your gowns cannot be picked up by anyone else. Please note, when you come to get your gown you will be asked to show your proof of vaccination – at that time you will be given a bracelet that you must wear until the ceremony.  Only one bracelet will be given out per students so DO NOT lose your bracelet.

 

What are the hours for gown pick up and drop off?

Tuesday, November 30th – 12 pm – 4 pm

Wednesday, December 1st – 10 am – 4 pm

Thursday, December 2nd – 10 am – 6 pm

Friday, December 3rd 9 am – 4 pm

Saturday, December 4th 10 am – 4 pm

Sunday, December 5th 10 am – 4 pm

Monday, December 6th 10 am – 4 pm

**Late fees will apply after Monday and full gown costs will be applied the following Friday, December 10th**

 

What form of ID do I need to bring to show with my proof of vaccination in order to get my bracelet for X-Ring?

You will need to provide your proof of vaccination AND a Government issued ID or Passport.  No exceptions.

 

Where do my parents, friends or family watch the ceremony from?

We have viewing rooms available for parents, family and friends that they need to pre-register for by December 1st. They can register for one of the viewing rooms by visiting www.stfx.ca/xring.  Family and friends attending the viewing on campus MUST be double vaccinated and must show proof of vaccination and a government issued ID to enter the viewing rooms.

 

Vaccination checks for Parents, Family and Friends

Our vaccination check-in tables will open at 11 am for parents, family and friends.  Once your family and friends have their pre-clearance bracelet, they will be able to gain access to their viewing area through an express door. 

 

Will the ceremony be live streamed?

Yes, the entire ceremony will be live streamed on www.stfx.ca/xring

 

Are you receiving a second degree and planning to resubmit your X-Ring?

You must notify our Ceremonial team that you are intending to resubmit your current X-Ring.  You must  email xring.eligibility@stfx.ca to indicate you are resubmitting.  You X-Ring must be dropped off to Taylor MacIntyre at the X-Ring Store by Friday, November 19th at 4pm.

 

Are you from the Class of 2021 and planning to resubmit your X-Ring?

You must have your X-Ring dropped off to Taylor MacIntyre at the X-Ring Store by Friday, November 26th at 4pm.

 

Are you receiving your X-Ring on December 3rd and graduating on December 4th?

If you are taking part in both ceremonies, please email shopkins@stfx.ca to indicate that you are taking part in both ceremonies.

 

I am not attending X-Ring, how do I get my ring?

If you know you are not attending the X-Ring Ceremony, you must email xring.eligibility@stfx.ca to indicate you are not attending the ceremony on December 3rd.   You can make shipping or pick up arrangements directly with the vendor that you purchased your X-Ring from.

 

Viewing Spaces

In the viewing rooms, your masks must be worn at all times when not seated or consuming beverages.  We will have complimentary coffee and tea and water on site for family members.  We encourage them to bring fillable water bottles.
