To the campus community,
The university is aware that today’s rain system is causing adverse impacts and challenging road conditions in some parts of eastern Nova Scotia. We want to remind everyone that while campus remains operational and most classes have proceeded as scheduled, we are mindful of everyone's safety and encourage people to make the best decision for their personal safety and well-being when assessing travel to campus. Academic accommodations will be made for any students or employees who are unable to make it to campus due to the impacts of the storm.
- Students who are, or who have been, unable to attend classes should contact their professors to advise them and make alternate arrangements.
- Faculty are asked to accommodate those students who have been unable to attend class because of the weather.
- Employees who are unable to come to campus or who must leave early should contact their immediate supervisor or Dean.
We also want to remind students who live off-campus to contact their landlords concerning any property issues or damages. In cases of emergency, such as the need for immediate shelter, the Red Cross is advising anyone who is displaced due to flooding to go directly to the Antigonish Farmers Market Building, located at 20 Exhibition Lane, off of James Street near the Antigonish Arena. Once there, the Red Cross will provide information and resources to those who are unable to stay in their homes due to flooding.
If you need assistance leaving your home, please contact the RCMP (902) 863-6500.
