About Digital Marketing

Digital marketing refers to marketing activities that are performed through the use of information technology (IT), including those that are conducted through the Internet. An organization may use a wide variety of technologies while using digital marketing to reach potential customers, such as websites, search engines, blogs, social media, video, and email.

Given the significant usage of social media and other online channels, digital marketing can help improve the competitiveness and positioning of organizations. Organizations now recognize that developing and implementing an effective digital marketing strategy is paramount. A successful digital marketing strategy involves a combination of various methods and technologies, including online advertising, search engine optimization and marketing, social media marketing, pay-per-click, influencer marketing, and content creation and management.

Why a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Digital Marketing at StFX?

Learners will complete courses in marketing, digital marketing strategy, social media marketing, branding, data analytics, information technology, enterprise systems, and project management.

Learners also receive hands-on training on the latest analytics software and IT systems used to better understand customers, undertake digital marketing activities, and assess the success of digital marketing activities and strategies, such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, MS Project, and SAP S/4HANA.

The Program

The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Digital Marketing is comprised of 48 credits taken over two years and is open to students possessing a university degree in any discipline. The program also provides the option to complete a 4-month coop work placement at the end of the second term of study.

Regardless of previous courses taken, all students will be required to complete 48 credits at StFX with a passing grade of 50%. The structure of the program and core courses are:

Admissions Requirements

Completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. A cumulative average of 70% or higher in the applicant’s undergraduate program. Limited enrolment.

For International Students: Students with an IELTS score of 6.5 and no band below 6.0 will be deemed to have satisfied the English language requirements for admission to graduate programs. 

Recognized English Language Proficiency Tests

Co-op Option

Students in the Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Digital Marketing can apply to complete Co-operative Education (Co-op). Co-op students complete four months of paid work experience (summer between first and second year) in appropriate fields of business, industry, government, and non-profits and also integrate work experience in their field of interest within their academic studies. Students complete professional development seminars and workshops offered through the Co-op department prior to starting their work term placement.
