StFX Campus Earth Science Summer Camp 2026

Registration begins Monday, March 9 at 12:00 pm.
 

Camp Location: StFX Nasso Family Science Centre, Antigonish.

Camp Hours: 9am - 3pm Monday - Thursday (*Camps will run Tuesday - Friday during weeks with a Monday holiday). All camps are 4 days in length.

Each camp is geared towards the specified age groups with challenges varying from beginner to advanced. Campers can be registered in the camps for the grade which they are going into in September 2026 (e.g. a child finishing Grade 2 should be enrolled in a Grade 3-4 camp). Exceptions can be made, within reason.

Earth science camps will immerse youth in the wonders of our planet through hands-on activities and thrilling discoveries! Dive into the fascinating world of rocks, minerals, and fossils, uncover the secrets of plate tectonics, and explore the power of natural forces that shape our world. Campers will investigate Earth’s processes and conduct experiments that bring the science of our dynamic planet to life. From understanding the mysteries of the deep Earth to learning about sustainability and the environment, these camps are perfect for curious minds ready to dig deeper into the story of our Earth!

Note: If the camp is full, Playfinder will automatically put your camper on a waitlist, last minute spots may open up!

Camp Registration is advised to be as early as possible. Your camper will be put on a waitlist once camps are full.

To Register: X Earth Outreach Registration will be through PlayFinder this year. Please follow the steps below to register.

1. Make sure Antigonish County is selected in the top right corner of the page.

2. At the top of the search page:

   1. Set Type to Organizations

   2. Set Activity to Science

3. In the results list, location StFX Earth Science Outreach (X-Earth)

4. On the right side of that row, click the black "Actions" button

5. From the dropdown menu, select "Schedule"

6. You will be brought to the X-Earth scheduling page. Choose the available session/date you would like to register for.

7. Complete all required registration details (participant name, contact information, etc.)

8. Click Submit/Confirm Registration

9. Check for an on-screen confirmation message and a confirmation email

Camp registration begins Monday, March 9th @ 12:00pm. To register on Playfinder, please follow the steps above. Once registered, you should receive confirmation on whether your camper has been successfully registered OR put on the waitlist. 

Camp Fees, Payment, and Refunds
Camp fees are indicated in the camp schedule and can be paid through the Playfinder platform, by cash, or cheque. Camp fees must be paid by May 30th if registration has happened before May 30th. If the need arises to cancel your child's camp registration, a full refund (minus administrative fees) will be available if cancellation happens up to 2 weeks before the start of the camp. Cancellations within 7-14 days of camp starting will receive a 50% refund (minus administrative fees), and cancellations within one week of the program start are not eligible for a refund.
