Integrated Dietetic Internship Program
Gain Relevant Work Experience in Your Desired Field
StFX offers a 42-week Integrated Dietetic Internship (IDI) option for StFX students in the Bachelor of Human Nutrition degree program (Concentration: Dietetics) who are passionate to build a career within the field of nutrition and have a desire to pursue a career in dietetics. Together with the BSc HNU, the IDI program is an accredited dietetic education program (currently registered with EQual Accreditation Canada and previously recognized by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP), 2010-2026). The internship program integrates academic and experiential learning which enables student's eligibility to write the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam (CDRE) and registration with a provincial dietetics regulatory body to practice as a Registered Dietitian.
Each practicum offers a diverse learning experience that encourages students to gain knowledge, skills, and expertise across a wide range of dietetic practices including food service management, nutrition care, and public health promotion.
Examples of possible placements:
Long-term care facilities
Hospitals
