National Entrance Scholarship Program:

StFX is founded on the values of academic excellence, leadership, and service to others. The StFX National Entrance Scholarship Program reflects these qualities by recognizing students’ achievements and assisting them financially in their efforts to obtain a quality education.

Entrance Scholarship $5,000 85.0% - 89.9% average* Guaranteed to all applicants with an average of 85% or higher. Renewable for four years at $1,250 per year. 
Entrance Scholarship $7,000 90.0% - 93.9% average* Guaranteed to all applicants with an average of 90% or higher. Renewable for four years at $1,750 per year.
Merit Scholarship $12,000 94.0% and higher* For outstanding students across all programs in Arts, Science, and the Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems. Based on academic achievement. Renewable for four years at $3,000 per year.

*Scholarship eligibility in February is determined based on three grade 12 university preparatory level courses final marks. Final scholarship eligibility in June is determined following completion of the grade 12 year based on five grade 12 university preparatory level courses final marks.

President’s Scholarships $32,000 Recognizing those students who have achieved outstanding academic success. Renewable for four years at $8,000 per year. All students enrolling directly from high school who demonstrate the qualities and values honoured by StFX – notably leadership and dedication in service to others as well as academic achievement – are eligible.
International Baccalaureate Scholarships $28,000 Recognizing those students who have achieved outstanding academic success within the IB program. Renewable for four years at $7,000 per year.
Canadian Scholarships $24,000 Canadian Scholarships are awarded annually to students from Canada who are entering St. Francis Xavier University. The winners have achieved superior academic standing while demonstrating leadership in their schools or communities. Scholarship valued at $24,000 is awarded in equal amounts of $6,000 annually throughout four years of study.

StFX International Scholarships

 

$24,000 Recognizing international students enrolling directly from high school who demonstrate the qualities and values honoured by StFX, notably leadership and dedication in service to others as well as academic achievement are eligible. Scholarship valued at $24,000 is awarded in equal amounts of $6,000 annually throughout four years of study.
Phillip W. Oland and J.P. McCarthy Scholarships $24,000 Awarded based on a nomination from the applicant’s high school. Renewable for four years at $6,000 per year. Harrison McCain Scholarship $16,000 Awarded to any high school student in Canada, with a recognized initiative to funding their own education, who possess strong leadership abilities. Student must posess a minimum average of 80%, and be in financial need.
StFX Alumni Association Scholarship $2,000 Awarded to a first year student accepted for full-time study in an undergraduate degree program. This award is based on academic achievement, community involvement, involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes. 
Benedict M. Mulroney Scholarship $20,000  Renewable entrance scholarship for Canadian students who are entering any undergraduate program at StFX directly from high school. The scholarship is $5,000 per year, renewable for four years.
BMO Financial Group Scholarship $20,000  This scholarship recognizes Canadian students who rank in the top 5% of their high school class, and have a superior average. The scholarship is $5,000 per year, renewable for four years.
Evelyn & Denis Morris Family Scholarship $20,000  Renewable entrance scholarship for Canadian students who are entering any undergraduate program at StFX directly from high school. The scholarship is $5,000 per year, renewable for four years.  Students must demonstrate financial need, leadership and have a strong academic record. Preference will be given to those who have an interest and ability to contribute to Catholic heritage and character of the university.
Jeannine Deveau Scholarship $15,000 This award is available to Indigenous Canadian and African Nova Scotian students who are entering a diploma or degree program at StFX directly from high school. Preference will be given to students from Mi’kmaw and African Nova Scotian communities. Students must demonstrate high school achievement, evidence of leadership and community involvement. The scholarship is $3,000 per year, renewable for a maximum of five years.

Dr. Ed O’Connor Scholarship

$5,000

This scholarship valued at $5,000 is open to students who attend a high school in Alberta, demonstrate Athletic achievement, demonstrate financial need, and are in good academic standing.
Harrison McCain Scholarship $16,000 Awarded to any high school student in Canada, with a recognized initiative to funding their own education, who possess strong leadership abilities. Student must posess a minimum average of 80%, and be in financial need.  
Paul Wacko Memorial Scholarship Award $1,500 For students from Northern Alberta who plan to attend St. Francis Xavier University full time. Preference will be given to graduates from Edmonton. Renewable for four years at $1,500 per year.
StFX Alumni Association Scholarship $2,000 Awarded to a first year student accepted for full-time study in an undergraduate degree program. This award is based on academic achievement, community involvement, involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes.

Nova Scotia Power Scholarship $1,500 Awarded to a Nova Scotia high school student accepted for full-time study in an undergraduate degree program. Student must be in their first year of study and have a minimum average of 85% from high school.  Renewable for four years at $1,500 per year. This award is based on academic achievement, community involvement, involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes. Deadline for applications is November 30th, students can apply online.
Daniel and Frances Anzelc Cordeau - Cape Breton Scholarship $28,000 For students from Cape Breton entering a full-time undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program. Renewable for four years at $7,000 per year if student maintains a minimum average. Preference given to students active in their Catholic parish. Financial need may be taken into consideration. (Offered every 4 years, next deadline March 1, 2019)
StFX Alumni Association Scholarship $2,000 Awarded to a first year student accepted for full-time study in an undergraduate degree program. This award is based on academic achievement, community involvement, involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes.
Jeannine Deveau Scholarship $15,000 This award is available to Aboriginal Canadian and African Nova Scotian students who are entering a diploma or degree program at StFX directly from high school. Preference will be given to students from Mi’kmaw and African Nova Scotian communities. Students must demonstrate high school achievement, evidence of leadership and community involvement. This award is valued at $3,000 per year and is renewable for a maximum of five years; provided students achieve a minimum average.
Thomas J. Hayes & Family Scholarship $10,000 Entrance scholarships for Nova Scotia high school graduates from the African Nova Scotian Community who may not have the financial resources to attend St. Francis Xavier University. The award is valued at $2,500 per year and can be renewed for a maximum of four years; provided a student acheives a minimum average.

Barry O’Leary Leadership Award Full Tuition (2 years) For students from Ottawa, Gloucester, Nepean and Kanata who demonstrate financial need and who wish to enroll in any Faculty. Full tuition for the first two years, provided student achieves a minimum average of 70% and is enrolled full-time. Deadline to apply is April 1st
Chadwick-Hayes Scholarship $30,000 James Chadwick and Julia (Hayes) Chadwick graduated from St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in 1959 and 1960 respectively. Their time at StFX shaped their personal and professional lives and how they contributed to their community. This award is meant to reflect the opportunity that was given to them by the University and the Xaverian community. High school students in western Quebec and eastern Ontario are eligible(North Bay and all points east; southeast to Belleville and all points northeast). Students who have high school averages of 85% or higher on first-term grade 12 transcripts are eligible. Renewable for four years at $7,500 per year.  Deadline to apply is March 1st

To be eligible for the scholarships listed below, you must apply to StFX and submit a first semester grade 12 transcript before the March 1st deadline. Only students who have completed the scholarship profile on the StFX University Scholarship Site are eligibile for the awards below.

Scholarship Value Details
President’s Scholarships $32,000 Recognizing those students who have achieved outstanding academic success. Renewable for four years at $8,000 per year. All students enrolling directly from high school who demonstrate the qualities and values honoured by StFX – notably leadership and dedication in service to others as well as academic achievement – are eligible.
International Baccalaureate Scholarships $28,000 Recognizing those students who have achieved outstanding academic success within the IB program. Renewable for four years at $7,000 per year.
Canadian Scholarships $24,000 Awarded based on academic achievement and the student’s province of origin. Renewable for four years at $6,000 per year.
Phillip W. Oland and J.P. McCarthy Scholarships $24,000 Awarded based on a nomination from the applicant’s high school. Renewable for four years at $6,000 per year. Harrison McCain Scholarship $16,000 Awarded to any high school student in Canada, with a recognized initiative to funding their own education, who possess strong leadership abilities. and in financial need. Renewable for four years at $4,000 per year. 
StFX Alumni Association Scholarship $2,000 Awarded to a first year student accepted for full-time study in an undergraduate degree program. This award is based on academic achievement, community involvement, involvement in extracurricular activities and personal attributes. 

*Scholarship eligibility in February is determined based on three grade 12 university preparatory level courses final marks.

National Entrance Scholarship Program:

StFX is founded on the values of academic excellence, leadership, and service to others. The StFX National Entrance Scholarship Program reflects these qualities by recognizing students’ achievements and assisting them financially in their efforts to obtain a quality education.

Scholarship Value Eligibility Details
Entrance Scholarship $5,000 85.0% - 89.9% average* Guaranteed to all applicants with an average of 85% or higher, based on Grade 12 December exams or first semester Grade 12 marks. Renewable for four years at $1,250 per year. 
Entrance Scholarship $7,000 90.0% - 93.9% average* Guaranteed to all applicants with an average of 90% or higher, based on Grade 12 December exams or first semester Grade 12 marks. Renewable for four years at $1,750 per year.
Merit Scholarship $12,000 94.0% and higher* For outstanding students across all programs in Arts, Science, and the Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems. Based on academic achievement. Renewable for four years at $3,000 per year.

*Scholarship eligibility in February is determined based on three grade 12 university preparatory level courses final marks. Final scholarship eligibility in June is determined following completion of the grade 12 year based on five grade 12 university preparatory level courses final marks.

Award is in the amount of $10,000 per year, must be used towards tuition, room and board on campus. Renewable for three additional years if student maintains a minimum average.
