To the campus community,
Today, we are announcing the decision to extend our mask-wearing policy, mandatory in all indoor spaces, including classrooms and labs (apart from residences and staff and faculty within their own personal offices), until the end of the fall semester.
With the province’s recent decision to delay transition into Phase 5 of its reopening plan, coupled with the relatively high case counts being reported in the Atlantic region, and evidence of community spread within Nova Scotia’s Central Health Zone, we have decided to continue the mask-wearing policy for the safety and protection of our community. Wearing non-medical masks is considered part of our own personal preventive measures we should be taking to do our part in keeping everyone safe and healthy.
As always, the safety of our community is our top priority.
I’d like to remind everyone how important it is for the campus community to remain vigilant, regardless of what phase the province is in with respect to its reopening. Please continue to practice the basics to keep yourself and the community safe. This means:
• Wear your mask whenever possible.
• Keep your social gatherings small and keep to the same social group.
• Stay here – limit your travel as Antigonish is among the safest places to be.
• Continue to monitor your health daily.
• Make socially responsible decisions that will keep our hospitals and other emergency services available for those who require legitimate health emergencies.

If you feel unwell or are showing symptoms related to COVID-19, please stay home, and contact 811 for further instructions. If you are referred for further testing, please stay home and
• Students: immediately notify @email. (or call 902.867.2276) so that we can provide you with appropriate supports and take steps to protect the safety of the community.
• Employees: please notify your manager.
