To the campus community,
Yesterday, the Province of Nova Scotia announced Monday, September 19, 2022, as a provincial holiday in honour of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service. In their announcement, the province declared that businesses and other organizations have the option to remain open.
After much consideration, it was decided that StFX will delay opening until 12:00 P.M. on Monday, September 19. This decision balances the need of preserving academic time -- minimizing disruptions to labs and classes -- while still providing the opportunity to respectfully observe the holiday.
Essential services will remain operational (ie. Security, Morrison, cleaning). For students, if you have any questions about your classes or work that may be cancelled, please communicate with your professor or supervisor. For employees with questions about their work schedule, please speak to your supervisor.
