At StFX, our residences are more than just buildings. By design, they are spaces that shape our legendary community spirit; spaces where you’ll live and learn with like-minded people who share many of your interests.
The friends you meet here will always be part of your StFX story. Together, you’ll discover your residence’s unique culture and quickly find yourselves sharing stories, experiences – and probably a few laughs along the way!
Our exceptional student-centered approach to residence life means you’ll live in a supportive and inclusive environment that inspires your success as a student and development as a leader.
Residence living at StFX is an experience that shapes your life forever.
You’ll soon discover that our residences are not just places to live, but also places to learn. At StFX you can participate in unique programs like the President’s Colloquia, a discussion series held right in your residence featuring guest speakers (like our university president) and dialogue on important social issues.
In previous years we’ve hosted President’s Colloquia on topics including the Syrian refugee crisis, positive mental health, reconciliation between Indigenous and settler societies, and social justice from an African heritage perspective.
Our commitment to extend unique learning opportunities into residence means you’ll continue to grow both personally and academically through all aspects of university life.
Want to take your living and learning experience to a whole new level?
Starting in September 2018, StFX is proud to introduce Living Learning Communities (LLCs), a unique residence experience where you’ll live alongside peers who share your interest in a particular lifestyle or field of academic study. Together you’ll share experiences related to the theme of your LLC, giving you an opportunity to learn and connect more closely with faculty and students who share your interests.

When you live in residence, you’re never more than a few minutes away from anything on campus. Your classes, meal hall, special activities and events – they’re all just steps away from your room. And - you couldn’t live in a more beautiful place!
We’ve invested in our residential and academic buildings, creating spaces where you’ll want to live, learn and play. You’ll enjoy state-of-the art facilities and cozy residence rooms, all just a quick, beautiful stroll from your classes.
Simply, our residences and our community spirit are second to none. You’ll love it here.
Residence staff will work hard to ensure your transition to StFX is a successful one. Trained residence life coordinators, house directors, and residence assistants will be there to foster a culture of respect and help you with any challenge you may have. And the fact that they have one in each residence means there is always someone close by to lend a hand.
Take a campus tour and imagine yourself here, on one of Canada’s most beautiful university campuses.
