StFX Accessibility Audit
In Summer 2021, StFX embarked on a campus-wide audit of the built environment to identify accessibility barriers. The audit considers accessibility for people in wheelchairs, but also those impacted by hearing issues, learning and developmental disabilities, mental and psychological challenges, memory problems, and blindness and low vision. Recommendations from this work will inform the development of future projects as means of championing an accessible campus for all. A summary of the findings will be available when the full report is completed in the Spring of 2022.
Brian Mulroney Institute of Government
Completed in September 2019, the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government provides a learning environment that supports diversity, accessibility, health, and future needs of the University. An understanding of the needs of all users – equitable access to various student touch-down and collaboration areas, universal and barrier-free washrooms, quiet rooms for users needing respite, and accessible classrooms have enhanced the learning and teaching environment for students, staff and faculty.
